Dr. Zac Bauermaster, School Administrator Zac Bauermaster is an educational leader and author passionate about people. One of his main tag lines is, “It’s all about people," and his leadership style exemplifies a people-first approach. Zac currently serves as a principal in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Zac has the tremendous opportunity to lead teachers, support staff, families, and most importantly, the next generation daily. His greatest joy in education is seeing adults leverage their God-given talents and abilities through inspiring kids to find and use their gifts. Before becoming a principal, Zac served public education in various K-12 roles such as assistant principal, administrator of online learning, teacher, and coach. These experiences have grown Zac’s sphere of influence and allowed him the opportunity to develop and maintain lifelong relationships. Zac received his undergraduate degree from Millersville University in secondary education and completed his master’s degree in educational technology from Pennsylvania State University. Zac returned to Penn State, where he earned his principal certification. Most recently, Zac earned his doctorate in educational leadership and superintendent letter of eligibility from Drexel University. He is a lifelong learner, always looking to learn and grow. His family jokes that he went to school in Kindergarten and hasn’t ever stopped. Zac continues to grow his leadership influence and share encouragement and positivity through various social media platforms, magazine publications, speaking events, and books.
Zac's first book Leading with a Humble Heart: A 40-Day Devotional for Leaders was published by ConnectEDD Publishing in July of 2022. Most importantly, Zac is a husband to his wife Carly, and father to three young kids, Olivia, Eliot, and Isaac. Zac is a firm believer in leading his family first. What mental health initiatives would you pursue? What do you see as the biggest challenge in our system? Talk about the family life network What is the most challenging mental health issue in your school or district right now? I can break down an acronym I like to use to focus on putting people first. What is that? From my school leadership lens, ensuring teachers are in a good spot mentally so they can operate at their best for the kids that fill our classrooms and hallways. Our district has a high level of rural poverty which has a significant impact. What are the barriers to overcoming that issue, and what do you believe is the best approach?: Leadership prioritizing teachers and staff as people first. I can break down an acronym I like to use to focus on putting people first. Regarding rural poverty - our district has a family life network where we collaborate as a school and community to ensure our students and their families are getting their basic needs met.
