Schurtz and Ties (Kasey Schurtz and Brian T. Miller), Educators. Podcasters.
Brian and Kasey are committed educators. Kasey is an instructional coach with 20 years of teaching experience while Brian is a secondary administrator with 15 years of teaching experience.
What is the most challenging mental health issue in your school or district right now?: Teachers feeling appreciated, confident, and purposeful in their profession.
What are the barriers to overcoming that issue, and what do you believe is the best approach?:
We try our best to exercise empathy, practice purposeful affirmation, and continually strive to support our teachers.
We also strive to educate the public. Through our podcast, we hope to provide insight and understanding to both sides (educators and community members) so that partnerships can be strengthened and relationships restored.
